Boat windshields come in many sizes and styles. Some are individual windshields, while others are composed of two side windshield with a movable one in the center. Save money by buying a new windshield and do the installation yourself. The project should take no more than an hour.
Instructions
- Remove the plastic screw caps by prying out with the flat blade of a small screwdriver. Below the screw caps are the screws that hold the windshield in place in your boat. Put the plastic screw caps in a small bowl. You will need them later.
- Remove the screws with a Phillips screwdriver. Place them in another small bowl. You will need them to install the new windshield.
- Lift out the old windshield.
- Install the new windshield. Place the new windshield where the old one stood. Align the screw holes located at the bottom of the windscreen.
- Place a washer on each screw. Buttonholes come with your new windshield. Drive the screw into the hole, and tighten them with the screwdriver. Make sure the screws go straight. Twisted screws could ruin your windshield.
- Replace the plastic screw caps on each screw.
